30th birthday adventures to @stroudsmoor in stroudsburg, pa ft. @columcillemegalithpark + @lakotawolfpreserve | april 24, 2023 by Meghan
Ushered in my 30s surrounded by love + God's glorious beauty - grounding my feet in the dirt + my hands in the soil.
Celebrations kicked off with family + @sweeteatsbakery over Easter weekend. I spent my actual birthday on @hollandridgefarms with my Momma, kicking my shoes off, picking tulips + enjoying the spring sunshine!
We met our dear friends Steph + Matt for dinner on our cute Main Street in Bordentown - enjoying tapas and rosè at @underthemooncafe.
Friday we hopped in the car for a surprise birthday adventure - planned and executed entirely by Ryan.
Last year he planned a stunning trip to Cape May - I love this new tradition. Releasing control + allowing space for Ry to plan adventures has unlocked a new level for our relationship... plus I get to be #passengerprincess.
I was so blown away by Ryan’s thoughtfulness - our first stop was @columcillemegalithpark - a walking Celtic Christian mystic meditation megalith park in Bangor, PA.
"A non-profit park in the Appalachian Mountains of Eastern, PA, open to the public, offering trails, 90+ megalith settings, and uncut stone structures, primarily placed from 1980-2005 and found either on-site or in local slate quarries. It was founded to preserve and maintain the land’s natural resources, to provide sanctuary and educational resources to the public, and to celebrate seasonal observances in Celtic and other spiritual and cultural traditions."
We checked into our stunning bed + breakfast in Stroudsburg, PA, @stroudsmoor - the lobby was adorned with old family photographs + unique large farmed pieces of art. A big old wooden bar with stools, comfy couches + tables to play cards welcomed us. The grounds were beautifully maintained on top of a Pocono mountain.
"Originally operating as a three-month summer family resort in the 1930s, this boutique hotel on 200 acres was purchased by the Pirone Family in 1984."
We enjoyed a decadent breakfast spread Saturday morning at the inn before hiking to the top of a mountain to meet four wolf packs, a bobcat, lynx + red-tailed foxes at the @lakotawolfpreserve.
We explored Main St. in Stroudsburg - stopping in Carroll & Carroll Booksellers, Pocono Soap, 7th Street Coffee, + dining at Siamsa Irish Pub, Newberry's Yard of Ale + Marita's Cantina.
We hid from the rain in a witchy cafe - reading our books at @thecoven.dwg and grabbing lunch at the Village Farmer Apple Pie Bakery ft. the "True Love Special".. hot dog + a slice of apple pie!
We cozied up by the fire Saturday evening, ordering off the pub menu at the inn.. sipping on pots of tea, enjoying each other's company. Sunday we hiked a little section of the Appalachian Trial, explored a huge antique mall + scooted on home to get our golden boy, Asher.
It's who you're on the journey with that makes life so special.
When you're vibrating at your highest frequency - in sync with yourself and your partner - you have the power to create the greatest adventures. In every experience, you hold space for sacred moments of presence together.
I pray that you all have a partner or friend who takes you on adventures + makes a dusty old bookshop feel magical.
30 is really so sweet. Thankful to my family + friends who make me feel like a rockstar every single day.
