We met at Harrah's Casino in Atlantic City, NJ, this spring to capture wedding anniversary photos for Steph and Matt. It all started with a few inspo pics, a brainstorming session over sushi, and a vision brought to life with a magnum bottle of champagne involved.
Steph and I have been friends for over 25 years! There is a true special bond shared when you walk through so many seasons of life together. We often remind each other of how lucky we are to have one another, and cherish our friendship (and ongoing voice memo thread).
Speaking of special bonds, Steph and Matt met in 2008 when we were all in high school. They met at Rockwells, which was the Friday night Coffee House Show our church youth group hosted, where bands would play sets. What a time. Ironically, Ryan and I also crossed paths at Rockwells growing up. Ryan was in a band that played at Coffee House, and I was always there to mingle and collect the band's buttons for my purse and jeans.
Steph and Matt have built a beautiful life together.
From their gorgeous home and property to their sweet pups and love for camping and the outdoors, I've always admired their relationship and dedication to one another. Every year, they host an epic Halloween Party, and they both have hearts of gold - supporting their family and friends 100% above and beyond, always! It was a true honor and treat to make them the center of attention for a night in Atlantic City. Steph wore the black velvet bridesmaid dress from my wedding, and Matt rocked his burgundy suit. We jumped on the bed, cracked beers, and laughed our as$es off. We walked the casino floor, danced with strangers, and went to bed by midnight.
We kept joking that this is “doing AC in your 30s”.
This is your sign to get creative when celebrating your wedding anniversary. Take the photos. Wear the dress. Pop the champagne and eat all the fries. This session was a reminder to have fun and play! I'm always so grateful when my friends ask me to get creative with them.
