Cruising to St. John Canada on Royal Caribbean Cruise line for my Bachelorette Party with my best friends.

One year ago, my best friends and I were setting sail for the trip of a lifetime!

Did you know I worked on a cruise ship my first year out of college? I was a Disney Princess for Disney Cruise Line sailing The Wonder in 2016.

6 days and 5 nights out of Bayonne - my bridesmaids and I had ourselves a ball (and lots of martinis) on Royal Caribbean Cruise Line for my bachelorette trip! Britney Spear's night, a spa day, A lingerie party, trolley tour + so much more - we wined and dined and giggled our way around the ship.

Bride Tip: Treat yourself to all-new makeup before leaving for your trip - this ushers in your wedding season with a fresh face! Plus it's so fun to open up new goodies the first night of your bachelorette trip. Shop my makeup must-haves here.

A hurricane changed the itinerary for our cruise the night before our sail date. My sweet friends prepped Ryan with the news, unpacked, repacked, and showered me with so much love (and champagne) that I barely even noticed the destination switch from Bermuda to Canada!

It was the best cruise ever! The joke was that I never knew what floor we were on or where we were going and honestly, that was exactly what I needed leading up to the wedding. We were also blessed with lots of sunshine.

I suggested the idea of a bachelorette cruise. What’s great about a cruise is that it’s all-inclusive and it’s all included in the price you pay upfront. Oftentimes bachelorette trips get out of hand with overhead costs of hotels, transportation, dinners, activities, etc. Forget the spreadsheets and cost-splitting apps and book a cruise with your besties!

Everything is taken care of for everyone. No excess activity planning, meal prepping, driving, or delegating.

The last-minute pivot from Bermuda to Canada meant that a lot of guests canceled for a refund. This worked out in our favor because there was no one on board! Open seating at the piano bar, the pool, the evening shows, and the casino - we were celebrities!

At dinner, we were our server's only table which meant that we got five-star dining - basically a chef's table experience - every single night of the trip.

We sat for hours over three courses and several bottles of wine before heading out with a martini in hand for an evening of dancing and singing.

I am a lucky duck to know some of the fiercest souls out there. God hand-picked my friendships and I am so grateful for each and every one of them. When it came to choosing my bridal party, I stayed focused and intentional on the energy surrounding the morning of my wedding.

The heart and focus when wedding planning must remain on you and your partner - and from there the love and energy that you wish to surround you throughout this special season of your life.

My friends made my bride dreams come true through their presence, laughter and attention to detail on my behalf. They took such good care of me!

My bridesmaids continue to encourage me with every changing season of life and they all share the same determination - to leave this world a better place and to have a darn good time along the way! 10/10 recommend a bachelorette cruise. And treat yourself at the spa!

Cheers, Meghan
