cellars' society + spring sips.

Updated: Jul 14, 2023

Welcome Spring.

Our daily walks along the Delaware River are now gloriously painted with magnolia trees in bloom, daffodils sprouting in the wild & birdies serenading the passing boats, bikes + pedestrians.

Did you know that birds chirp in the morning to let their mate know they survived the night? This totally justifies my singing to Ry first thing in the morning, right?

Also known as the "dawn chorus" birdies utilize the morning quiet to sing.

I urge you to make like the birdies & sing a little tune during your morning routine this week. I invite you to release tension and welcome playfulness + creativity into your day!

Speaking of play -- a few weekends ago we had the pleasure of sipping + sharing in the celebration of Kennedy Cellars, Cellars' Society opening weekend.

Ryan and I joined their wine club after several lovely visits to their tasting room with family + friends.

The tasting started with generous pours centered around South Africa's signature grape -- pinotage (crossing of cinsaut + pinot noir). Pours included dry red blends such as their pinotage reserve and pinotage clone, a crisp rosé (launching just in time for spring) + a sip of their dessert wine, Sweet P.

The team at Kennedy Cellars provides a welcoming + fun environment-- describing each bottle & blend with such detail and delight. It is crystal clear this family is passionate about wine!

{Another thing to note-- our glasses are never empty while at Kennedy Cellars.}

Delicious grub was thoughtfully paired + catered by local Jersey businesses, @rastellimarket and @margatedairybarburger.

The second part of the Cellars' Society tasting took place in their barrel room. What a delightful treat to taste two different wines from the barrel-- comparing 2020 blends to 2021 blends.

We could very quickly distinguish the difference based on the color + scent alone.

The sommelier shared a bit of their history + winemaking style which we always appreciate hearing!

We look forward to spending our spring + summer sipping in their outdoor patio space with family & friends (maybe @thegolden.asher can come too).

Be sure to check out their delicious food pairing blog, The Wine Down written by Danny Roberts on their site. If you take the trip to Hammonton, NJ be sure to stop in town after a tasting -- the best pasta and cannolis can be found on Bellevue Ave.

We hope to share more of what we love + where we are traveling with you all. As we expand our shop, we expand our community + our mission to spark conscious conversations. Encouraging you to focus on the magic that surrounds you each + every day.

xo, Meghan
