The best part of lucid ladybug + the basis for this lifelong artistic endeavor - is the conscious conversations sparked. The meaningful, and present moments I've shared with friends - old and new, family, fellow vendors, small business owners, strangers + kiddos too. The stories people share... the open hearts strangers present to us leave us speechless at times.
The journey is the blessing -- a lesson that has taken me a long time to figure out.
Sharing my love of pretty glassware - my passion for rescuing vintage treasures has unlocked a new and glorious adventure and I'm so grateful you're here. Storytime!
Caitlin Macri (@handmegownsbridal) + I were connected last winter through a mutual friend (my bff Steph) who felt our businesses were in alignment. Caitlin + I met for breakfast at the Red Lion diner - you know the one at the circle on 206. Instantly - I knew we were meant to work together & support one another.
A fellow Disney gal + lover of beautiful treasures - Caitlin has a heart for offering affordability and inclusivity within the wedding dress industry. Hand Me Gowns Bridal opened this past spring in Hammonton, NJ as an eco-friendly alternative to dress shopping for #rebelbrides {photos from the grand opening ft. shop owner, Caitlin + my fellow bride gal pals, Tara + Mallory}.
Caitlin has an incredible mission to reduce waste + fast fashion in the wedding industry - encouraging brides to focus on what truly matters when it comes to planning a wedding. All dresses onsite are up-cycled.. worn once by a bride or rescued from a showroom, sample sale, or online auction. After planning her own wedding in 2020, Caitlin saw a lot of brides selling their dresses online (Fb marketplace, eBay, etc.) but felt the bride receiving the upcycled dress missed out on that "Say Yes to The Dress" experience. Thus, Hand Me Gowns Bridal was born and Caitlin started rescuing dresses!
Bridal consignment allows "graduated brides" a chance to earn a little money back post-wedding while simultaneously allowing upcoming brides their dream dress at a more affordable price. This "passing on" of gowns + accessories truly is the ultimate pay-it-forward for brides to support one another. Caitlin offers a gorgeous experience for brides of all shapes, sizes + budgets to feel welcome. Caitlin felt it was important her shop design reflect her mission - which is where we enter! lucid ladybug helped style the stunning boutique using exclusively vintage & upcycled treasures.

We curated vintage rattan furniture (boho chair & coffee table), vintage display racks for veils & belts, plus a gorgeous boho rug for the heart of the showroom. The display racks we sourced in Lancaster, Pa, and the furniture we picked up from a farm in Princeton, NJ.
Sixteen matching pink champagne flutes (vintage + produced in France) were sourced in Pitman, NJ and the gorgeous vintage crystal ice bucket for celebratory champagne was found at the market in Columbus, NJ. We also sourced some fun vintage handbags + perfume bottles for the accessories table in Caitlin's shop. Coming soon: a vintage gold handheld mirror for the brides to see the back of their gowns!
Macrame queen (and my sissy) @knottylizard custom designed the macrame accent lamp + valances in the boutique as well! Check out this reel highlighting the boutique and design.
